Some Recent Finds...

Spring Break has arrived...time for a few days of relaxation and getting caught up on some things that have fallen aside. In the last week or so, I have had several food finds that I must share!

I discovered the "calzone vegetariano" at Piccolo Mare here in Opera. So good...and ginormous! I've eaten this thing twice (yes, really) in the last week. Now, perhaps you understand why my clothes are getting tight. At least it is filled with vegetables (eggplant, zucchini, peppers, tomatoes) and not all totally ridiculous things. I've since been told I have quite the healthy appetite...though, I'm trying to determine if I should consider such a statement a compliment! :)

Please note that this plate was at least 14 inches in diameter!

Yesterday, Kate and I headed into the city to meet another co-worker and found the bagel shop I had wanted to visit for quite some time. I am a bagel aficionado and have missed them since leaving Cincinnati some time ago. Some bagel shops have come and gone on Wilmington Island, but none made a lasting impression. This morning, I toasted an onion bagel (in the oven, nonetheless- you didn't expect me to have a toaster, did you?) and enjoyed it immensely.

Now I suppose I'll have to start mixing my own cream cheese flavors...
the Italian choices aren't exactly what I'm interested in!
And, after almost 8 months of living here, I finally found chocolate chips. Someone showed me what to look for, and, realizing that I should be looking for a box instead of a bag made a big difference! Chocolate chip cookies coming soon!

Nestle, anyone?
